When I run back tests it downloads the data every time (after the program has restarted), its quite annoying having to download a years worth of data everytime, its a waste of bandwidth for me and also I cant imagine how much it would clog up your severs.
Is it possible that once the data has been downloaded and saved from historical tester, that this can be used instead of having to download it all again?

The platform downloads Historical price data only once. The data is stored in the cache folder and used for further platform needs - charts, Historical Data Manager, Historical tester. You can check yourself in Tools/Preferences/Advanced which is your cache folder.
