I agree. I know a lot of people complained about being initially confused by the new release of Historical Tester, but I was glad to see the changes -- especially the subscription panel where I could specify a template for charting. Since the default directories for strategies and indicators were different, I moved all of my files around to accomodate.
I would like to see the new one come back as soon as possible. If there are problems with it, then it would make sense to release subsequent updates (making the new, newer) vs. falling back to the old version. We will see it again soon?

It will be provided as soon as possible. A lot of users found a new Historical Tester interface too hard for understanding. It seems we need to prepare some kind of description before deploying a new build.

Especially using templates to get visualising in the chart and saving the results in the file. Looking forward to use them. tnx support

Dear support,
please provide us with the documents, before you change the API structure. I think I can speak for all programmers. We were totally confused from one day to another and many of our strategies did not work anymore. The new version was not downward compatible for strategies and there was no way out for us! We had to find out workarounds empirically, because we did not understand the changes. This took a lot of time! I lost 4 days of my developing work by that.
What I recommend is the following: Please provide us always with two versions * one which is the new release with new features and structure, containing a document containing the changed API methods. * one which is the old release, with which our programs are still running
I would appreciate an improvement in your release handling.
Respectfully
B. Schicht

Dear support,
As far as I did understand, the new release was by design meant to be backwards compatible, isnt't it? If it by design wasn't meant to be backwards-compatible I would strongly ask you to keep backwards compatibility in all your releases where users don't have the choice to run a strategy on an older version.
It's a very good idea of Bernhard's to beside the latest also make the previous version available for login. This would allow everyone to thoroughly test their strategies on a new release and get familiar with new functionality and decide on their own when to switch to the new release.
Thanks for considering! Best, RR.

Dear support,
could you please publish a release note with every new build that you publish for download even when you have not changed the version of the API?
It would be very beneficial for us users to know what has changed from build to build. Be it bugfixes, new functionality in the user interface, new config fields, improved performance or whatever. Whenever a new release gets downloaded and we cannot find a release not, we are just left in the dark. We just don't know whether it was only cosmetics to the userinterface or if it changed something that effects our strategies. If you did fix bugs it would be good to know so that we can check workarounds that we possibly have implemented and deactivate them.
Thanks a lot for your understanding! Best, RR.

I totally agree in RoadRunner's suggestion. Furthermore please provide us with 2 versions * one that is the previous release * one that is the new release including change documentation

+1
I discovered a "Changed" document in the "Releases" section for API 2.6.43 a few days ago which at least referred to the fixed bugs. But it silently disappeared after a few days. No idea what happened.

Furthermore if you want to test a strategy, sometimes you get the window for the new version. But if you click "no", the platform sometimes determines into a network failure. That happened recently quite often to my running JForex demo, mostly on the weekends.
Then I had to restart JForex with all my forward test strategies. This exigency is very unhandsome.

Dear Support,
Could you just give us a rough estimation about a release date? Is there a chance, you will release a new desktop client in Q4.2011? Or do we have to think in longer terms?
Any hint would help us greatly to plan ahead.
Thanks a lot for your response. Best, RR.
