i was reading in many forums about the price action trading, and i noticed that they all recommend that you must trade on a charts that have New York closing time....so i am just asking wether Dukascopy charts have the new york closing time or not....and what is the impact of not having them.

There is probably a misunderstanding.

A chart that you open in Dukascopy's JForex platform (or any other broker's platform) contain prices on the selected instrument for the selected period. It always contains all markets. There is no such thing like 'chart with (without) the New York session', or 'chart with the New York closing time'. Period.

In Forex one could talk about the opening hours of the main markets. These are the London, the New York, the Sydney and the Tokyo markets' opening hours. Sometimes these opening hours are called sessions (like London session).

Probably what you have read is about WHEN to trade. (And not about on what chart to trade.) As if you trade in hours when more session are open, market volatility is higher, so it is easier to find good entry points.

More on this at several sites on internet, for example here.

@tcsabina He is most likely refers to the daily close to coincide with the NY close time which is 5:00PM EST. Unfortunately Dukascopy has as daily close the 00:00 GMT time which falls behind 2h from the NY session close. Dukascopy's daily bar close 1h before the Tokyo session comes in.

I hope it helps

Yes...i mean the difference between the GMT+00 charts and the charts which end with the new york session.....the 4H and dailly charts candles are different.....and what i was asking about is :- is it mandatory to trade on these charts when trading with price action.

It's not mandatory but I do have my charts set with the daily close as NY close. But most of the time 2h difference between NY close and Dukascopy daily bar close doesn't make much difference as usually after they NY close market barely moves, however there are times when the market maybe much more active during that time of the day.

I hope it helps.

It does really matters and differs! Is there any way to make JForex paint proper candles?
