Hi Support

I am using a demo account to see if jforex can handle my strategy.

I am very disappointed with the platform.

The strategy that I am running is utilizing renko-bars and I have been running it on demo from Monday.
The strategy only made 3 trades, where I expected 6 or more trades.. I then tested the exact same strategy on the historical tester from Monday and on the historical tester it showed 6 trades made.

I do not understand this. I cannot open a live account under these inconsistent conditions.

Is there some setting that I should be aware of for Renko bars, or what?

Regards

On DEMO accounts the in-progress-data don't exactly match historical-data, see:

Okay, I am trying to understand what you are telling me. I read the other forum.

You are saying that the LIVE data feed and the DEMO data feed differs from one another and the historical data feed is made from the LIVE data feed. Hence the historical data provide the real deal, where-as the trading strategies on DEMO is similar to the LIVE data feed but not as accurate.

Can I thus be assured that if I traded a live account those three trades would not have been missed?

Okay, I read the prescribed forum.
It says at one place that:

Quote:
The live price feed is fairly replicated in the demo environment.

If that is so. Why did the DEMO miss three trades? It is not due to slippage that the order did not get filled. I have logging statements in my code, and there was only three trade signals generated, not six like in the Historical tester.

I struggle to believe that a minor change in the feed can create three missed opportunities out of only six. Or is it realistically possible? This is not a scalping strategy it's signals require pretty significant price changes.

I read that old ticks (more than one second old) are not read.

I am not sure how good our internet is, it is very fast but maybe the latency is too high.

Can It be due to internet connection inconsistencies that the strategy misses important ticks, or bars?
