Hello API support,

I found the latency(local GMT time of VPS - ITick.getTime()) between VPS and Server was changing all the time. As images show, the maximum latency was 35 seconds, and they were almost above 30 ms. The original data is on the cloud(https://pan.baidu.com/s/1jHElLSa, password:uk8e). In my another post(https://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/english ... 65&t=54593), orders to open positions for EURUSD at market price with 1 pip slippage were always rejected, on account of the real market price changed during such long time. After using 5 pips slippage, only several orders were rejected, and the average real slippage was about 3 pips.

The Ping time to server is just 4 ms. The distance between London Equinix LD4(UltraFx) and Geneva is near 1000 km, and the signal travelling time = 1000 / 300000 * 1000 = 3.33 ms. So, the latency must be within 4 ms( travelling time and protocol processing time). How can i make any configure to the java trading program to decrease and stabilize the latency?

The lowest latency tend to be on our remote servers.

Did you ever get this resolved? I was planning to use the same host...

Dukas is staggeringly unhelpful whenever anyone asks about VPN services - they always recommend Remote, which many more sophisticated strategies simply can't use. They don't seem to realise that for many customers this is a make or break issue. Other hosts make a big selling point of helping customers set up low-latency servers - this is a real blind-spot for Dukas.

It doesn't help that their server is hidden behind Amazon CoudFront, presumably for DDoS protection. So it's hard to figure out what's going on with the usual sysadmin tools.

Sigh...
