Hi

Because I am used to MT4 and new to JForex, I am bit confused with the offer side concept in JForex. Hence, here are my questions:

1) One can switch on a chart between Ask and Bid. What is this offer side buy or sell on a chart?

2) Why other platforms like MT4 don't have this offer side on their charts? any advantages or disadvantages?

3) When using OfferSide.BID and OfferSide.ASK in a JForex strategy in Java?

4) Why the historical data is returned either with OfferSide.BID or OfferSide.ASK data ? why not both ?

Any explanation and clarification is much appreciated.

Thank you!

In strategy and on chart BUY orders are placed using BID price, while SELL orders are placed using ASK.
One benefit of this division is that strategies can make decisions based on actual spread value.
ASK/BID values are separated in historical data for performance reasons.
