When is onBar() called?

Hi,

sounds like a stupid question, but the API docs give me no quick answer. When is onBar() called? For each newly created bar or for each completed bar? More precisely: Is askBar/bidBar the newly created bar containing just the first few ticks or the last complete bar before the next tick starts a new bar?
