Hello!

What is the meaning of the return-value of the tick.getTime()-funcion? How
could I use that value to compare with other time-values? (E.g. compare
with INewsMessage.getCreationTime() ?)
How can i use client.addNewsFilter(newsFilter);? :| :|
thanks!

It is milliseconds since 01.01.1970, you can log the value the following way:

Simply compare them as any other number.

How can a strategy know what will happen in 30 minutes in future?

First of all news and calendar events are different things, those terms can't get used interchangeably. And secondly there is no calendar event impact parameter available form JForex-API.

There is an old Feature Request from January about improving/extending the functionality of the Economic Calendar for automated strategies, as currently (just as Support replied) you cannot 'read' the impact parameter of a calender event.
Also currently it is not possible that a strategy, without any user interaction, processes economic calendar messages, so basically you cannot build a strategy with the JForex-API that is based on (or using) Economic Calendar events. If you think that this must be changed, please take a look on the above mentioned feature request, and make yourself heard.

@support:
Is there any chance that this feature will be available? I think there is interest for this among users (just take a look on the view count).

Not the Dukascopy's Economic Calendar events (see the last comment on the mentioned feature request).

Of course, there are other resources out there that provide these events in .xml or .csv file...
