I have downloaded historical tick data for many instruments and many years. I have a slow connection. Is it possible to transfer the JForex cache to a new installation if I reinstall OS? Would it work if I just backup the ".cache" folder and restore it to the new installation?

As far as JForex client is concerned, it is only important that data is there (by the given cache path), regardless if you have downloaded or copied it.
