What show Volume indicator on tick chart

Hi,

I set up a tick chart combined with the volume indicator.

When I compare the values of the volume indicator to

1. the bid volume,
2. the ask volume,
3. the sum of bid and ask volume or
4. the delta of both

it never matches with the values the indicator shows me.

So, what volume does the indicator show?
