Hello,
At the moment I am storing each tick in an arraylist in the OnTick method as they come in so that I can lookback at recent data.
Would you recommend that I use IHistory.getTicks on every OnTick call instead, even when looking back only a few minutes in a live system? Can I rely on IHistory cacheing at least the last few hours worth of data in memory to keep the system fast?

You can use IHistory, it's can be little slower but difference must be insignificant.
