Hi,
Sometimes, UseOfLeverage is wrong in JForex Live:
Case 1, see screenshot attached equity = 74 355 equity*leverage 100 = 7 435 500 positions = 2 900 000 theorical useofleverage = 2 900 000 / 7 435 500 = 39% but displayed useofleverage = 119% (see picture attached)
Case 2, see screenshot attached equity = 106 395 equity*leverage 100 = 10 639 500 positions = 5 400 000 theorical useofleverage = 5 400 000 / 10 639 500 = 50,7% but displayed useofleverage = 140% (see picture attached)
Thanks for your help

It is possible that you have BID/OFFER orders, event if they are not filled yet, they still take full leverage of their amount. If this isn't the case, then you should call to our support

By the way, you have an error in your calculations. Your equity is in EUR, so you need to convert all amounts to EUR. In first case there will be less than 2 900 000, because 900 000 USD should be converted to EUR. It doesn't explain your situation though

The problem occurs even if there is no pending orders. I'll call the support.
Note that UseOfLeverage became wrong at exactly 18:00 GMT today. Before it was ok (but it's not the first time useoflev becomes wrong).
Thanks for your remark 2: all position must be converted in the account currency.

The maximum leverage granted to the account (usually of 100), is reduced to 30 before any period of market discontinuity (i.e. week-ends). It occurs on every Friday at 18:00 GMT. This does explain the change in use of leverage at this time.
Please note that the maximum leverage set to the account is reinstated back on Sunday market opening. It is stressed that existing procedures in margin call and margin cut situations remain the same.
Should you have any question on this topic, or another one, please feel free to ask us.

does that relate to the original leverage of 100 ? or does it mean, that when the leverage drops to 30, positions are closed ? also, another question, at what time does the market resume ? i notice that the daily bars during the weekends are flat , sometimes for one day and sometimes for two

The procedures of margin call and margin cut are triggered by the use of leverage (relative value), not by the level (absolute) of leverage. Whatever the level of max. leverage is, we measure the relative use of it. This the reason why we stress the fact that the procedures of margin call and margin cut remain the same whatever the max. authorized leverage is granted to the account; because a decrease in max. authorized leverage has the effect of increasing the use of leverage should the account be exposed. As a result, if the use of leverage goes beyond 200 % due to this process, exposure would be cut until the use of leverage is decreased to 100 %. Please keep in mind that the use of leverage can stay between 100-199 % for the week-end. When the max. authorized leverage is reinstated back to its original value (i.e. 100) on Sunday night, it would have the effect of decreasing the use of leverage should the account be exposed during the week-end.
Market opens on Sunday at 21:00 GMT Summer Time, and 22:00 GMT Winter time
About the question of flat candles on Sunday, we are currently working on a solution that account for market on Sunday night, in all situations. The difficulty is about the robustness of data on Sunday market opening in case of low activity.
Should you need any further clarification, please feel free to ask.
