Dear Sirs,
I was a participant in your January trading contest under the handle “domingo” Although I finished first overall, including being number one in both “pips” earned and “performance”, I was radically downgraded by your experts , dropping my standing from first to sixth. They wrote in admonishment: “Our recommendation is to pay more attention to popularity and statistics. There is definitely room for improvement there. Unfortunately, comments were also mostly meaningless and did not convey the reasoning the trader was using for his trading activities.”
The forum members thought my words and actions were worth 82 “popularity” points . What should I have done, employ BBDO to construct a marketing campaign to garnish the remaining 18 point?
You offer the option 'Personal view' for the comments. If someone has his/her own proprietary trading system and doesn't want to publish system details in a public forum, what should be written in the 'Personal view' field? Could you kindly explain what your criteria are for the rating of comments.
I kindly thank you, in advance, for your considerations.
We do not rank the comments of all traders. After all, it is a subjective factor that cannot be precisely measured (unlike the other factors we included in the "Popularity" category). However, we use them as one of the complimentary evaluation tools meant to determine the traders to whom we would like to attribute additional points from Dukascopy for their activity in communication etc. There are no rules on what a good "Personal view" comment should be.
If you monitor the activity of the contestants (especially, the top-20), you will see that traders that actively comment and justify their activities steadily attract more followers and create more discussions about their trading (we do not speak about useless "good trade +1" comment here). We believe that this is one of the most cleat indicators that the trader's view is respected in the community and that his posts are meaningful and interesting to follow.
