#3: I understand that posting to T/FB creates a link back to Dukascopy, which is what we want to generate traffic. Adding more social networks is not necessary from my point of view as any contestant can share any link to his Dukascopy blog via his favourite social network. What I proposed was to allow URL parsing to link or even inline display of graph (as it is now with Show Chart/Screenshot feature) from external chart sharing websites. But it is true that anybody can copy/paste a URL... (When writing this - an idea came up that it could also be solved in browser via a plugin...)

Post subject:  popularity and other rules..

Ive got 2 questions for you
1. uniuqe visitors with unique IPs counted with registered users or for everyone?
2. about dukascopy points after month
sl/tp are choosen when opening the trade and at the statistics Share of positions closed by TP/SL: is shown
If this is an analytical contest how can a trader NagarajaAdiga
with 13% be the be the winner of feburary
setting the tp/sl with maximum rates and close it when you want is this analytical?
and also points for popularity..
how comments like good trade well done etc can be helpful for traders or visitors?
I think popularity becomes more important than performance and pip points to win the contest and all traders start to write poor comments to other traders pages in order to get get some visit and comment...
Is this what dukascopy want? (3rd question by the way)
It is really hard to understand your criterias..
thank you

Thank your for your proposal. We will include it in the consideration list for eventual future implementation.

Post subject:  exit by tp order

Trades closed by TP order don't seem to show up in neither the traders blog nor the open sentiments page. So ppl get +1 for their 10 pip trades and my 100+ pip trades go unnoticed.

Note that only trades containing a comment of at least 10 symbols appear in the main blog and in the open sentiments. The respective indication can be found under the main trader blog. Your +100 pip trade did not satisfy this requirement and, hence, is seen only in your individual blog.

Nothing has changed in the design of the contest page so far... Changes are planning to come around April, 1st. Together with the general update of the corporate website.
And, by the way, that is not the only major update to be unveiled on April, 1st.

What exactly did you find "worse" in the current unchanged contest page?

Please send notices/requests to [email protected] whenever you suspect you are experiencing a technical issue. We will then be able to investigate and clarify it.

Concerning the case you mentioned: no abnormal behaviour of the Demo platform was detected at that time. All account were functioning in a regular way. In your case that might have been a temporary local issue.

And now that I went looking, neither did my 130+ pip trade show up. In fact none of my trades seem to show up in the blog on exit. I would've had 3rd and 5th best trade in the day (and that's on majors not some NOK pair that gives 10 times the pippage) yet no show there either.

We always strove to make the evaluation criteria as transparent as possible. Both trader statistics that are currently available on every trader's profile page and the published recommendations (http://www.dukascopy.com/tradercontest/ ... mendations) were all made to provide every participant with the information justifying his current positioning and future evaluation from Dukascopy (all factors are known). In fact, the only factor that is not known until the final publication of standing are the extra bonus points attributed by Dukascopy to separate outstanding participants. So far every month only 4-5 participants were receiving those points from Dukascopy and those points' weight in the Dukascopy evaluation was merely 25%. Hence, we believe that in terms of evaluations factors' disclosure everything is transparent.

Taking the opportunity, we are announcing that extended statistics for trader profiles have already been developed. Those will now feature more descriptive parameters and are to be published in the contest soon.

Concerning the unique IP visits for unregistered users: the issue is already fixed. However, remember that statistics are updated only hourly and visits will not be reflected instantly.

About popularity and comments quality in general: we do understand that the quality of comments (in general) is far from perfect so far. We do as well realize that improvements are needed and are possible. However, we are currently actively working on an important big project related to the launch of the Dukascopy FX Community. It will incorporate all contest (existing and future ones) under a common environment. I.e. registration, news feeds, interrelations of contests etc.
In this light we are forced to temporarily slow down the up-to-now rapid development of the Trader contest. It is related to the fact the there is a lot of integration work to perform and the integration of contests gets difficult if the integral parts are constantly undated.

We confirm that Dukascopy demo contest will be developing further on. New features are to come out, a lot of integration and unification is to be done as well as a lot of changes and improvements are possible (that also refers to rules).

Your trades are dated March, 9th. That is the reason why you do not see them in today's "biggest profit" trades. Please send us a notice with further information to [email protected] if the issue is still topical.

I think the popularity hints is a unfair score because some trader put female model picture to draw more attention into their blog and gain more score.

They don't show up in neither today's, this week's nor this month's lists. The trades (+172 pips and +134 pips as well as some others) were closed today. When traders open OR close trades, these show up in the blog. Mine don't. That is all there is to report on the matter. You can check the blog, select Biggest profit (or anything else really, I originally spotted the issue on Recently added), Today, Last week or Last month and look for my trades. They don't show up, at least not in my browsers and I would suspect that this is not a browser issue.

As far as I know the points for so called popularity come directly from the number of votes (+1) the trader receives as well as the number of visitors that the page gets and if I understand the rules correctly in case of equal number of points the trader with the highest number of popularity points wins. So Dukascopy seems to value these so called popularity points more than the actual performance. If the trades are invisible however, there obviously is no votes, no comments and no visitors, unless people see very good results in the standings and check it out, but these are probably the minority especially for those that are not in the top 2 or 3 overall. Usually you see a good trade and you check it out in the blog - which registers as a visit - and possibly comment or vote or both on the trade - which also directly contributes points to the overall score. I myself don't particularly care about popularity and in fact I consider it a slightly silly metric in a trading contest, but if it's there and it has an impact on the final score it would be fair if it was the same for all contestants, for I would suspect that I'm probably not the only one whose trades don't show up.

I can forward this info to the address you specified but it would be exactly the same. Whether it's still relevant or not I leave up to you.

That is not a system bug. It is due to the logic of how the trades accounting system works.

The 2.833 GBP/USD position opened by "skytrader" was closed on March, 11th, after reaching the Stop-Loss. However, the position was not closed fully (available margin issues) and is not closed until now. That is why the position is stated as "OPENED". As soon as it will be closed completely, the status will change to "CLOSED".

Post subject:  rating trades from last week

Hi support, Just a note on something that could be improved. It seems we can't rate a trade from last week. Some one could have opened good trades Friday evening as I have done and close Monday but because they are from last week they can't be rated even though they are maybe less than a day old. I know system is in place so people aren't rating old trades but is there not a way of disabling the rating after the actual trade is week old rather than from last week? Regards

A follow-up on the issue: my *open* trades *do* show up in the lists. But not closed ones (I had several trades opened today, all in the 120+ pip profit currently and they all show up except for the one that was already closed with a TP at +142 pips).

edit: my GBPUSD open trade shows up, but my EURUSD open trade DOESN'T, so....
