Hi Support, I suggest a new rule for traders that use copied strategies:
"The trader that use a copied strategy (that means that he doesn't use his own original strategy) has to declare that he is using a copied strategy with a comment at the beginning of month in his monthly page.
1. For traders that respect this rule there will be simply a. minus Bonus popularity points (as stated by actual Dukascopy rules, at Ranking Rules 4.d, for copiers-traders )
2. For traders that will not respect this rule there will be: a. minus Bonus popularity points (as stated by actual Dukascopy rules, at Ranking Rules 4.d, for copiers-traders ) b. and other minus 30 points of penalty "
Best regards, Frank

This is a great idea. Currently copiers have nothing to lose from making a strategy public.
I'd even be happy to see them get an honesty points bonus. Something like +5 bonus points instead of the usual +30(ish). It would be best if it was automated though, a checkbox after choosing to run a strategy to declare it's a copied, followed by a confirmation request. It's not good to see someone with the maximum bonus points for the full month if you know they don't deserve them.

WOW! What a solution provided by all of you. I wish, contest support team is also looking this thread. As per my view, before going one step forward, support team will have to look for present rules and implement it. I have seen so many changes in contest rules from last 5 months, therefore I believe that there is delay in process, however it would be implemented soon. And addition to this, I can see that result of last month is being calculated again, because last month result is again invisible. I hope, result will satisfy to all now. Regards, Santosh..

Hi Guys,
I'm new in the world of Forex and Dukascopy, but I have strong Java background. I wrote a quite successful strategy, but it's very hard to get into the top 10 without popularity points. Unfortunately I don't have any popularity points because my source code is not public. But if I make it public then I have to deal with copiers and fight against my own strategy in the next month. I'm thinking about obfuscating my source code so it won't be easily readable for copiers anymore. Is this legal or can I expect to be disabled if I do this?
Cheers, Tabanyi

You can to make your source con unreadable, and make life harder for copiers, but according to the rules, Dukascopy consider the quality of the java code when assigning "Dukascopy points". So, you risk not to get them, and without them it is almost impossible to finish in top 10. IMHO, the final target Dukascopy pursue is to attract more traders by the availability of a good number of open-source strategies for their platform...

It would break Programming rule 3.e: " The strategy must be written in accordance with Java Code Conventions. All comments have to be provided in English."
