Can't open plugin from .java file

This problem started occurring some time ago not sure in which version, reporting now because i'm a bit borred with a workaround.

Problem: When I right click on "Plugins -> Custom -> Open Plugin" and select Java file - after clicking "Open" nothing happens except blank red-line message appears in "Messages" window.

Workround: "Plugins -> Custom -> New Plugin" -> save it over existing file and restore content from backup file. After that plugin can be started.

Please fix.

We were unable to reproduce this
