Hi guys, sorry if this is a noob question, but I'm very new to Visual JForex (which I think is great stuff btw).

So anyway, I'm looking to calculate the length of the last candle's upper wick.
So the idea is to use a Calculation Expression block, with Candle High in A1, Candle Open in A2, Candle Close in A3, and min(A1-A2, A1-A3) as the result.

Problem is, I tried to experiment a little bit with min, but I can't seem to get it to work.

I could make other expressions work in Calculation Expression, like square root for ex (sqrt(7+2)=3):

But with min, after I click on Run, it just stays like that and doesn't give me the result:

So if anyone has an idea as to what I'm missing here with min, I'm all ears.

;-)

Greetings!

Try this attached logic. It is more precise although couple of more blocks :(

Hi Dirk,

Thanks for your input man, I appreciate it, and will keep the logic in mind for future reference.

However, unfortunately, I'm still getting the same problem as mentioned in my initial post, which is that when I try to run something that uses the min function, I click on Run but it's not going anywhere (here using the wick.vfs you just gave me, I click on Run but it still stays like that):

I had actually searched the forum a bit before initially posting, and had seen a few people having problems with the min function not working, especially one saying min was working with version 1, but not anymore with version 1.2.

So maybe that could be the issue?

I mean, my little test in my first post above, asking for min(8, 6), seems as simple as it gets, and yet I couldn't get it to work (but once again, maybe I'm just missing something).

So does anyone manage to make min work in version 1.2, or maybe knows how I could access version 1, so I could test it there?

Thanks a lot guys.

;)

Ok. You are supposed to be right, unfortunately.

I have had the same bug on DEMO environment. I tested it internally with our new release, which is scheduled to be available this week, and there it works fine.

I kindly ask you to consider that "problem" to be fixed :D

With the release of the new version everything should work fine :)

Oh ok, I didn't know a new release was scheduled within the week (otherwise I would have just waited a few days to test on it).

Anyway, thanks for the answers bro. I'll now mark the topic as solved.

Cheers ;)
