Hi, sorry this is a newbie question, I used the search, but it's still unclear. In most strategy examples that I view, the first two blocks are "if defaultinstrument = lastcandle.candleinstrument" and "if defaultperiod = lastcandle.candleperiod" what exactly is the reason for that?

Hi,
This is a simple way to filter instruments and periods in Visual Jforex. By default, if you don't use such blocks, the strategy will consider the default instrument predefined but when VJF strategy is exported to Jforex it may behave inconsistently. As of the trading period (we're talking about candles here) the strategy will start browsing all the available periods from 10sec to one month including the related price data of each period if you don'r apply any filter (or period subscription)
Hope this clear enough..

Very clear, thank you.
Just another thing: I have a live account and I cannot run strategies from within visual jforex. It makes me download the strategy processor but it asks for a demo account. Is there a way to use the live account for testing directly from visual jforex (not importing the strategy in jforex historical tester and running from there) or should I necessarily create a demo account for that?

HI,
Direct live connection is not yet available and for the moment you should use a demo account for testing purpose. Live direct access will be released soon.
Thanks !
