Hi,

Is there a snip of example code that shows how to place markers on the screen for patterns? Similar to the candle stuff in the standard library of indicators.

I could start to try and figure it out myself but if there is a simple example available that would make life much easier. .. ;-)

We are not sure, that we understand what exactly do you mean.
But we believe that this documentations will help you https://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/docs/interfaces/IChart.htm
If you still have questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Sorry for not being explicit enough ..

I have noticed the IChart interface already in one of the other posts on the forum, thank you.
But looking, for example, at the CDLDOJI indicator i was wondering whether the code would be available as an example to write a new pattern indicator. Call it a template/ starting point form where to start writing a new and different pattern indicator.

I have noticed example code for overlay indicators and separate window indicators but nothing for a pattern indicator. Hence the question.

Any chance of such code being made available? Would be very helpful indeed.

You can download those with a JForexClientLibrary https://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/english/forex/jforex/library/
You will find them in a indicators-sources.jar

Hi Support,

I'm afraid they are not .. :(
I just downloaded the latest & greatest API zip and looked in both sources jars but i cannot find any .java file called CDLDOJI (or any other candle/ pattern source code) ..

If not in the above mentioned jar there where can i get a copy of (for instance) the CDLDOJI source?

CDLDOJI is a Ta-lib indicator (here is all list of their indicators https://ta-lib.org/function.html)
And still in the indicators-sources.jar you will find all indicators, that is created by Dukascopy team. All others are third party indicators.

Thank you, i understand.
The highlighted/ bracketed candles, is that code also written by the third parties or is that some sort of wrapper you (dukas) wrote to show the indicator on your platform/ chart?

An example of the code required to place the markers around the candles is actually what i'm looking for. Since i'm not too proficient in programming visual 'stuff' i thought i would ask.

You don't need to do it by your self. In the indicator as an output drawing style need to be used style OutputParameterInfo.DrawingStyle.PATTERN_BULL_BEAR. Output values should be positive or negative values. Here is Java docs https://www.dukascopy.com/swiss/docs/api/com/dukascopy/api/indicators/OutputParameterInfo.DrawingStyle.html#PATTERN_BULL_BEAR
