Since we already have the ability to download and save all the ticks, would it be possible to have a back tester that works offline? I'm sure many people will find this beneficial, I know my self will find it immensely helpful.
Is there any thought of this at all or should I not hold my breath?

I agree. It would be extremely useful to be able to develop without being connected to the internet, not to mention the inconvenience caused when the dukas copy servers are playing up!

I join the request too.
If I may suggest to Dukascopy, I can understand that authentication is necessary, but once this is done it would be good to be able to instruct ITesterClient (for JForex API) to use only data from local cache and not even try to go to the historical servers. Any implementation of handling of missing local data is acceptable (exit, throw exception etc) - it should be simply the responsibility of user to ensure local data availability
