This announcement is to inform you that starting from January the weight of Popularity in the total evaluation will be decreased from current max 50 points to max 25 points. The calculation basis will remain unchanged, though.

In such a way, the share of popularity in the total score will be only 9%.

At, in contrast to the current methodology, popularity points will be attributed to leading performers in a linear manner, i.e.:
1st position - 25 points
2nd position - 24 points
3rd position - 23 points
4th position - 22 points
.......
25th position - 1 popularity

Note that the amendments are expected to come into force within the 1st half of January. A respective announcement will be made.

We expect that such a "demotion" of this disputed evaluation factor will nullify the efforts of those participants who abusively use commenting features of the community turning them into a spam feed.

nice to read, that you have noticed the spam feed, resepctively that you are aware of the problem

but i dont hink that the users who are wasting their time with DUMB CIRCLE COMMENTING right now, will not stop doing that, just because the points get reduced. 25 points are still points. why is there not an effective way to also ban these users massively or why is there for example no way to report users also when they act in other blogs or their own blogs?

i think DUKASCOPY should in general think over the idea to make statements or missbehaviours reportable not only in the own blog!

a report-button we can use everywhere we see any abuse of the community system!

why you don't just ban the popularity?

...instead of letting these simple minds bully you around with their repetitive dumb-to-the-bone-actions forcing you to again and again adapt the ranking calculation, i recommend to also take effective measures against these guys.

this is the one and only permanent solution.

it is not a problem of the point system. it is a problem caused by certain individuals.

they will continue doing this even for 5 points.

so, if you dont want to let the idea of the DUKASCOPY community be totally absurded, i really recommend to take the trolls and also the spammers under investigation and CHASE and BAN them effectively and PERMANENTLY.

not all of them will want to risk to lose their existing profiles and nicknames. to fight new and over and over again registered fake users, well, therefore you will porbbaly need moderators or a much more effective reporting system. and of course also en effective ip scanning before allowing registrations. or you ask for identification.

these are the only effective means to oppose this problem, until the reporting mechnanisms and the awareness of most of the users is so far devloped that the communtiy cleans this behaviour out itself.

some of the haters always try to desinfrom with the lie that i want or need the high weight of POP points to win.

that is NONSENSE like 100% of the rest of the crap they use to throw at me while hoping that some of it sticks.

here are some earlier thoughts on that subject in march, although i had the max pop points i made the following proposals:

in that time we did not have DUKAS evaluation, so i also started to propose this automatic evaluation feature in several threads. the content does not fit 100% to todays situation, but there is still way to go and optimize the DUKAS points. i made an analyis of the DUKAS points and collected all the values for last month of november....

well, to be honest, some of the comparisons are just weird! this needs improvement, but this is another subject. if the support is interested in this evaluation table in which all the values get displayed just PM me or send me an email.

here another one of my proposals, a little bit later, for new weights in the ranking calculations, this was in april:

ranking calculation should be like this:

PIPS 35%
DUKASCOPY 35% (if dukascopy gets to objective formulas and parameters like true and incorruptable R/R)
BALANCE 20%
POPULARITY 10%

well at least the popularity is now with 9% in the region i had proposed it.

Hello Dukascopy,Sky, and all. I really do not see the DUK support team in support for capital punishment here. To axed someone here for ever and ever and ever is almost unheard of. DUK wants as many to play but play fair. DUK wants people to chat back and forth. It is too silly to police every commit that gos on here. I think there should be points for good commits here. I do understand what Sky is saying about some will do anything to get these points, but as an outsider that comes here just to visit, I think its best just to see how it runs in Jan and Feb in the new POP point system. If people still think it needs improvement, then ask for changes in March. I understand that in Oct, 2nd place winner received extra points because of good comments. Since DUK support dos not look at all comments here, maybe the comminity can be involved with choosing best comments that were said in the month of play and give POP points that way. May the best person,commentor, trader win.

(yes, all these nicks belong to the same person, this guys self-perception is so massively oversized that he needs a bunch of characters to fit his hate in, although he is not smart enough to vary his diction. last month he stopped attacking me in the blogs, because i made him realize that he is simply too dumb to operate several characters and got tricked in stuff like referring with one character to statements he made with another character, etc....)

well erric1, i know that you meanwhile participate in this contest under a new nickname. that is also a reason why the old original erric1 does not show up anymore. i also know which one it is. you abandonned your old erric1-nick, because you failed so miserably and repeatedly.

you still cannot overcome the fact that you lost the january contest to me. look where you hate brought you? since then you did not have one month in the profits. you also fail miserably with you new nick. better forget the past and try to improve your trading instead of losing any sort of dignity by focussing into this senseless and meaningless hating actions.

regarding one statement of you post, i guess i have to say "thank you guys", you erric1 and the few other haters, you are repsonsible for my popularity. one thing is my success in this contest which brings a lot of curious visitors in my blog, but the other thing is this vicious hate and envy you guys show. bashing me in the fora and in thre blogs also makes the people curious, so thank you for keeping my name in every single thread, like you say it, although that is quite an exageration.

besides the fact that winning this contest or finsihing in the TOP3 is real fun, to be honest, meanhwile i drag at least as much fun out of the envy and hate guys like you provide.
