250,000 words later, all he has to do is to remember what the article was about and where to put each word in their correct order

Prolog
Writing an article is as daunting as writing a thesis for an exam or a company’s weekly/monthly/annual report. At times, inspiration kicks-in and the train of thoughts simply flow forth to the point whereby editing becomes a problem especially when we have to limit the number of pages or words in our article/report.
The infamous “Writer’s block” is the dread of all authors because when it hits, nothing of substance comes to mind and simply putting words onto paper becomes a monumental task and that state of mind can last for days, weeks, months, years, and even becoming unfinished work upon the Author’s demise.
Each month, I grabble to come up with an original and inspirational topic relating to the forex market, and it’s getting harder to come up with new refreshing topic as just about every topic has already been very well covered by numerous authors. Any topic that starts with “How to…..” and “What you need to know…” have been well covered and even repeated a number of times.
There are tons of very good & well written articles in the world…

Hello Everyone, today i would like to share my experiences with dukascopy contests.First of all,i would like to start with Trader's contest.
Trader's contest : - Coming to this contest,i have been participating since very long time but unfortunately i did not won any places in this contest.
Analysis on points with Trader's contest
->
  1. Performance Points : - These are points where i am failing i.e i am doing trades badly and at the end losing the capital and i am not even good at protecting the initial capital in almost 99% of contests.i think for winning in contest, the performance points really matter as it is traders contest but coming to what points we need to achieve is 140 points here is enough. For achieving 140 points,i think a 250k balance an average is enough after some observation.So,250k is really not that hard but all you need is consistent trades with profits.

I won 4th place in the June Binary Options Trading Contest. This was my first month of participation in the contest. I traded for a total of three days and made a profit of $19,032. After winning the 8th place in the January Trader Contest, I wrote this article that shows how I did it. Continuing in the tradition of sharing, in this piece I will again give away some of my ‘’secrets’’.
1. Have a view and stick to it

Have a view and stick to it. Just like in regular trading, to get anywhere with binary options you got to have a plan. I mostly trade on price action. For others, their system may involve following the longterm trend signalled by the 50 simple moving average. There are literally hundreds of different ways to trade the market and going over them is beyond the scope of this article. Here I will focus on how to trade binary options and more specifically about how you can maximize your odds of winning a prize in the Dukascopy Binary Options Contest.
As you can see on the pic above, I made all my gains of over 19K in one day, June 19th. If you look at a chart of June 19th, the day wasn’t particularly exciting. The total daily range of the Euro was 59…

well...I'm 99% sure I won the September Binary Options Contest :) If I did my math right, my winning trades 5 minutes before the close should place me around $100-$200 ahead hedongming who was at number one spot.

There is a small chance that he was up and traded at the same time but I doubt it. The results are usually official 10-20 days after the end of the month so I will know for sure then. But 99% sure I got this!!!!!!!!!!!!

))))))))))))))))))))))))

fxsurprise8 avatar

The September results are now official and I managed to climb to the number one spot! My last set of trades 5 minutes before the rollover time placed me ahead of hedongming by $230 USD!

On the last day, I used my tip  5: Do the math and Strategize!

During the whole day me and hedongming kept jumping over each other. One minute I would be N1 and the next he would pass me with a new set of winning options. But since he is Chinese, it was late for him, he went to bed few hours before rollover time. I took advantage of this and I doubled up a few times to pass him!

Sleep is for the Weak!

Dukascopy bank a renowned name in the world of Forex among
Institutional investors and retailers because of its market place where in it
is involved in bringing the sellers and buyer together and facilitating the
trade to happen smoothly.
To spread the awareness about Forex among retailers Dukascopy
has been conducting contests in automated trading strategies, manual trading
contest ,article writing contest and also the real account contest with a total
winning prize of whopping $50,000 every month where in a trader can showcase
his strength in the respective fields.
Beauty of the contest is that if you manage the PPP
(performance, pips and popularity) you will gain FFF (Fame, Finance and Foreign
trip)
Ever since I won the article contest in February 2011, I’ve
been approached by a lot of traders especially newbie and with little knowledge
about trading on how to be consistent in trading and how they can make use of
the contest to improve their trading.
In this article I try to share my experience with the
contests and to advise wannabe traders and even intermediary traders on how
they can improve their trading skills.                                                               …

From the outset, I do not agree with the suggestion the title of this work puts forward. This contest as I have always maintained does not help in live trading. I see it more like a publicity stunt for Dukascopy than anything else. The contest Rules and organization may never help a trader who wants to learn the art of trading.
At the same time, kudos to Nagaraja for a clean product

NagarajaAdiga avatar

Thanks for the praise Rambo. But there is "no free lunch". It's a win-win situation for both participants and Dukascopy. Both will get what they need. while you are seeing the contest as publicity stunt by Dukascopy, I am seeing this as a tool to improve our trading skills. I believe in "don't think of what others will gain from you but look at what you gain from others". That's pure business sense.

SILVER - Bullish Probability – If it Breaks 30,83(Weekly R1 Pivot confluence with the Downtrend Line) and confirms the Bullish Signal it could reach 31,84(weekly R2 Pivot), 32,22(Monthly R1 Pivot) and 32,97(Weekly r3 Pivot). Price is moving inside an uptrend Channel on 4 hours Chart and this would be a good level for a bearish retracement to the Channel Support.

Silver Price has Broken the 200 Simple Moving Average on 4 Hours Chart and has formed a “Red Cross” (50 SMA cross with 200 SMA) simillar to Gold. This could signal a Trend Reversal. The Sentiment is Bullish with Bullish Volume.
Silver Looks more Bullish than gold at this Moment.

In my first article for the Month of January, you have been able to see a different view of the Market through a brief Introduction to Constant Range Bars Charts (or range candles if it suites You better). I have also posted My January analysis on daily Charts for the Major Pairs. This week My article will also contain 2 parts: 1) The Range Bars Charts advantages in comparison with Time Charts, integrated in part 2) My weekly Analysis for Major Pairs for each of the Major Pairs (which will be updated through comments, and also other pairs). I also insist that You read My 12 Steps to Make a Trade, 12 Solution to Discipline yourself as a Trader, before you read My Weekly Analysis.Part I - Constant Range Bars/Candles Charts advantages:- Range Bars give You a Better Price Action, by eliminating the Choppy Market Noise because the Time is irrelevant in Range Bars Charts. The Long Candles are cut into smaller candles with the same size that give You clearer Entry Signals, and let You make a Better Analysis.- Support and Resistence Levels are Clearer on Range Bars Charts.- Some of the Indicators that are based on Price Action, like MACD, RSI, Bollinger Bands, Stochastic oscillator, Moving…

USD/CAD,Weekly View(16-20.01),4hours Chart:Price is Moving Sideways on the 4 Hours Chart.Bearish Probability would break 1,015(Weekly S1 confluence with Uptrend Line) Pivot and move further to 1,005(Weekly S2 Pivot). From this level it could retrace Long back to the Uptrend Line - now resistence.Bullish Probability could rise to 1,023(Weekly Main Pivot confluence with 200SMA) and move further to 1,027(Downtrend Line) and 1,032(Weekly R1). This could be a False Breakout and price could Retrace Back down.

They are standard Charts with Bars that have Open/ Close/ High/ Low and Volume, but they focus on Price Movement, eliminating the Time Factor. The Range Bars charts have 3 rules:- Bars have the same Lenght / Height / High-Low Range in Pips, Ticks or Money ($),- The Close of the Range Bar is always at the High or Low of the Bar,- The Opening of the next Range Bar is always one pip / tick, above or under the High or Low of the current Bar.For example, let's ta…

FRIDAY UPDATE - USD/CHF: Is accumulating strenght trending inside a congestion area. A break under daily S1 (0,93) or upside 0,9386 (Weekly Pivot) would signal higher amplitude moves. Neutral Right now on this pair.Happy Holidays everyone and Happy Trading

FRIDAY UPDATE - USD/CAD: this pair had the highest amplitude price action yesterday (about 70 pips). Price is trending in a downtrend on 1H chart with the first support at Daily S1 (1,0182), next 1,015 (daily s2 confluence with uptrendline on higher time frames). If price will break that trendline, look for signals for a higher amplitude bearish move. Upside we have an important Resistence area between 1,0225 and 1,0238 (Monthly Pivot Main Line and weekly S1). Happy trading and Happy Holidays

Hello My Friends,This week I have decided to start a series of week-end "silent" technical analysis. Most traders start trading on Monday Opening, based entirely on "Gap filling" or "naked trading" Price Action, acting by emotional trading decisions. I said Monday opening because in my country, Market opens exactly at 00.00 o'clock on Monday.I personally, strongly believe that a Minimum "cold" Technical Analysis, for a better understanding of price action is needed. Surely this analysis has to be correlated with fundamental analysis and news announcements, to find the higher probability of successful trading in the right direction.Always we are required to Follow the Market, and wait for clear technical signals for a higher probability of bearish or bullish moves of the price. Of course we have to pay attention to news announcements that occure during the week-end.Let's Proceed with our analisys.I will make the tecnical analysis for the currencie airs that I mostly trade:- Eur/Usd,  - Gbp/Usd, - Eur/Gbp, - Eur/Chf, - Eur/Jpy,   - Usd/Jpy,  - Usd/chf, - Usd/Nok, - Usd/Sgd, - Aud/Jpy,  - Usd/Sek, - Chf/Jpy, - Usd/Cad, - Nzd/Usd,  - Aud/Usd.I will also make a brief analysis of USD …
