A DARKER SHADE OF PINK

"Pink has many shades -some lighter, some darker" wrote in one of her articles Carole Renouf CEO National Breast Cancer Foundation.October is the breast cancer awareness month and today i want to dedicate this post to this terrible disease, because i want to give a contribute like others by informing all women in this contest and by saving lifes ... Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide but what is breast cancer ...? Breast cancer is an uncontrolled growth of breast cells and the term “breast cancer” refers to a malignant tumor that has developed from cells in the breast.
In 2010, nearly 1.5 million women were told “you have breast cancer...it is scary ...Today many women are living with advanced breast cancer, where the cancer has spread to their organs, they are living with the death inside and fighting in every moment of their lifes...So many women you know may have had breast cancer friends and neighbors, coworkers, relatives. It seems as if every time you turn around, breast cancer is being talked about in the newspaper or on TV.
Navigating in internet you can find useful information about what is breast cancer,Symptoms and Diagnosis,Understanding Breast Cancer ,Managing Breast Cancer Fears, statistics etc. I will give you some useful information i found... First i found this testimonial of girl called Debbie...

"I live with the fear of this disease coming back. Any little pain, any little cough, I worry. I'm constantly checking myself, my breasts. I'm at the red light, in the car, and I'm checking myself. I'm obsessive-compulsive about doing my breast exam. I say to myself, 'I will conquer and overcome,' but it's a struggle for me."—Debbie
Second : i saw some stats ,in Western countries, 89% of women diagnosed with breast cancer are still alive 5 years after their diagnosis, which is due to detection and treatment. The UK and USA have one of the highest incidence rates worldwide (together with the rest of North America and Australia/New Zealand), making these countries a priority for breast cancer awareness. View the
map below to see how your country is impacted by breast cancer (pink being the highest per capital)
Dramatically, one-third of these cancer deaths could be decreased if detected and treated early. In a worldwide context, this means nearly 400,000 lives could be saved every year. The World Health Organisation [WHO] has suggested that two components of early detection have been shown to improve cancer mortality:
 • Education—to help people recognize early signs of cancer and seek prompt medical attention for symptoms.
 • Screening programs—to identify early cancer or pre-cancer before signs are recognizable, including mammography for breast cancer.
In the UK and US, effective education and screening could save between 12 to 37 lives per day,

and third i really get scary when i read :The most common breast cancer statistic you have probably heard is that “1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.” What it should really read is “If everyone lived beyond the age of 70, 1 in 8 of those women would get or have had breast cancer.” This statistic is based on everyone in the population living beyond the age of 70. Since
your breast cancer risk increases as you age, your lifetime risk changes depending on your age:
 • Age 20-29: 1 in 2,000
 • Age 30-39: 1 in 229
 • Age 40-49: 1 in 68
 • Age 50-59: 1 in 37
 • Age 60-69: 1 in 26
 • Ever: 1 in 8
This means that this poster, should really look like this:

Girls i really get scared ;(((....
Even in Albania the doctors are giving the red alarm the last case was a mother 30 years old with a child 6 months on her arms ...;(
Is very sad that we live in the technology area where medicine is developing faster nowdays and still we can't get a cure to this disease.. some crucial factors that cause the appearence of breast cancer are :
 1. Inheritance , for example , if the mother , your sister or grandmother had such a disease
 2. Women in menopause and those who never had childs
 3. Uncontrolled smoking
 4. Abundant food regime in fat and sugars
 5. The use of contraceptives
 6. Alchol
So girls take careful of your health...is very important to do a Mammography : is the x-ray examination ( x - ray ) , which makes it possible to look inside the breast . This examination helps to identify the presence of disease two years before the appearance of hallmarks and Breast Self-control with hands of home conditions or during the shower is one of the most efficient methods , identification and prevention are vital for your life ...

Save your life with a simple check up ...cause your breast is the symbol of motherhood and sexuality ...protect it ...

the most important thing is to determine, operate and treat it early, in time. The other one - positive emotions and believing that everything will be all right! Personally me, know many woman who live more than 10 years after operation. One more important - regulary check health! Some years ago I was shocked when died my neighbor, she was only 37 years old and was mother of 4 children!!!! Many years there was a little lump in her breast, but she didn't go to a doctor, she had no time, grew her children.... and after many years when cancer was determined, it was too late to do something......

Great post around a difficult issue. +1 for providing clarity around the statistics. I personally know scientists working on various classes of cancer here in the UK, from detection to prevention and of course treatment. There is very positive expectation about eliminating or drastically reducing instances in some classes very soon (medical trails still to be done and methods still to be stabalised outside lab conditions) but a general cure is still some way off. There are afterall many reasons still not fully understood why individual cells become defective and begin growing abnormally :((
