What does the "force connection" option mean (under "Advanced Settings" in the preferences dialog box of the JForex client platform)? |

There are 2 references to this topic in the Wiki: Quote: Force connection If enabled, the option by-passes the timeout feature on connection loss, and will forces attempts to connect indefinitely. However, it does not guarantee that the connection will be restored. Retrieved from https://www.dukascopy.com/wiki/index.php?title=JForex#Force_connection If using the LIVE-client, you need to work with PIN bypassing in the login when using "Force connection", which can be done by registering your fix(!) IP-address with Dukascopy. Quote: To force the platform auto reconnect in background If you already bypassing PIN activation, in Tools \ Preferences \ Advanced, check a box "Force connection". The platform will never display Login window and it will always try to restore a network connection. Retrieved from https://www.dukascopy.com/wiki/index.php?title=Auto_reconnecting Best, RR. |

Hi RoadRunner Once you have your static-IP registered to your LIVE account, is the force connection option available to be set programmatically through the JForex-API, or do you have to launch the JForex Client GUI with a LIVE account and set it through the advanced preferences there? The JForex Javadocs show an IPreference class and subclasses but none of them appear to have a forceConnection or forceReconnect setting to mess with. If it can be done, could you post a code snippet? regards f451 |
