I just learned that Oracle Java 11 removes Java WebStart. Standalone JForex API and JForex need WebStart. Does this mean we will need to use OpenJDK ? Here is a link discussing this "great removal" https://news.kynosarges.org/2018/09/26/ ... t-removal/ |

Thanks for your question. In near future we don't plan move to Java 11. There is a few options for java 8 further usage: 1)Oracle commercial JDK(https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html) 2)AdoptOpenJDK (https://adoptopenjdk.net/) 3)Amazon Corretto (https://aws.amazon.com/corretto/) All of them will provide java 8 support. |

As with many others, I would like an assurance that the standalone API is "not going away"... |

I suspect Java11 + javaws.jar (from Java8 JDK) should work, i.e. JForex3 Platform may run this way. Not sure if JForex developers will try this. |
